I know Gala Darling and Nubby Twiglet both take the time to post objects of desire/affection/inspiration on Thursdays… So I think I will, too!

  This post on livejournal of Marilyn Monroe’s last photo sitting with Bert Stern before her unfortunate death… It seems so much more emotional than some of her other shoot – really tugged at the ol’ heartstrings.

Kate Nash. I heard her on the radio a few days ago, and fell in love! Reminds me a little of Lily Allen, but both are just great! Great lyrics, too – like Regina Spektor and Lily Allen got together and made a gorgeous little musical baby. Here are some lyrics from a song she wrote called “Mariella“:

She marched to her wardrobe and threw away the colour, because wearing black looks mysterious, but it didn’t impress her mother.
She wanted to dress her baby in patterns and flowers, but Mariella just crossed her arms and so she cried for hours.

You really have to hear her say it with her thick British accent – it’s just wonderful!
