No Strap, One Strap…
As I sit here watching the long-awaited Oscars, my eyes are nearly going cross-eyed at all of the strapless dresses wafting across the screen. Only second to them is para-minimalist one-shoulder dresses. Do we fear the cap-sleeve, halter, and two-strap? Is there a more appropriate word for two-strap…? Anyway.

Strapless dresses have officially become a spring projection. They are so breezy and lightweight - easy to throw on (especially if you’re small up-top), and just racy enough to attract attention without attracting the wrong kind of attention.

Personally, I love the one-shoulder look - but the office has a hard time digesting daring clothing. Everything’s covered in a blazer anyway, right? WRONG. Stay tuned for more on that…

No for my annual snark (because I’m no saint). I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to hear in an interview with Jennifer Garner that… her stylist is Rachel Zoe. I already was kind of put off by the always-elated, always-serene persona, but now I’m just… nauseas.
All I’ve got on Miley Cyrus is my excitement to see her in something that goes below her pair of 15 year old knees… I know The Snarkstress and I were both a little tired of seeing so much jailbait thigh.
Anyway…
Here are some casual options, and a couple dressier options if you want to explore the world of alterna-strap frocks.
CASUAL
French Connection Silver Tulip Dress - Mapel - $138 $103
Rachel Pally One Sleeve Dress - ShopBop -$198 $99
DRESSY (ER)
Assymetrical Bubble Dress with Bow - Rampage - $44
Steve Madden Black & White Strapless Dress - Steve Madden - $69
Isn’t it interesting how the dressy ones are less expensive than the casual? Hmm.
xoxo.
