New Toy! Black Trenchcoat

I’m so excited! I’ve finally attained one of my most lusted after closet essentials!

I should actually make a list of this stuff… ANYWAY.

I bought a TRENCHCOAT! A beautiful, timeless trenchcoat from Old Navy. It’s amazing!

So sorry for the horrendous photo… It’s not my typical style! My room was just an absolute mess, so I had to come up with something! (PS - The writing on the mirror is my “to do” list for moving to Chicago in October!)

It’s got the perfect fit through the waist, the belt is excellent for defining my waist! The coat isn’t up on the Old Navy site yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as it is!

It was $49.95, which is typically more than I like to spend on an impulse buy (especially when I’m trying to move across the country!), but it’s a timeless piece, so I knew it would be used over and over.

There’s a wonderful vent in the back to give the coat some movement, and it hits me right where I want every skirt I ever wear to hit - right above the knee.

These are the shoes I’m wearing. They’re MIA Peep Toe Mary Janes I got from OnlineShoes.com’s warehouse sale!

If you’re into the black trenchcoat thing, too, here are some good options from BlueFly until Old Navy updates their flippin’ site:

MICHAEL Michael Kors Michael black double breasted short belted trenchcoat
MICHAEL Michael Kors Double Breasted Trenchcoat
$160 $76.80

Kenneth Cole Reaction black poly patent trim trenchcoat
Kenneth Cole Reaction Patent Trim Trenchcoat
$165 $79.20

Marc New York black belted 'Craze' trench coat
Marc New York ‘Craze’ Trenchcoat
$250 $103.99

Kenneth Cole Reaction black wool melton trench coat
Kenneth Cole Reaction Wool Melton Trenchcoat
$280 $129.99

Via Spiga black cotton patent trim 'Japelli' belted jacket
Via Spiga Patent Trim ‘Japelli’ Trenchcoat
$250 $111.99

You may notice something about all of these: they have a belt!

Would you like to know why?

BECAUSE IT IS MANDATORY! THIS IS NOT AN OPTION!

If you were gifted with a Body by Michealangelo type figure, or if you enjoy appearing as if you have no curves at all… Forego the belt! Go ahead! The rest of us will look feminine and saucy. :)

Like me. Except I’m cheeky, feminine and saucy:

Pinkies out, ladies!

xoxo.

Love the trench, looks very cool with the stockings & heels… great look. Also cool idea to write your to do list on your mirror! One way to keep it a focus.. :D

If I didn’t write some things where I was FORCED to see them every day… I’d be LOST. Simply LOST.

I actually really love the photo! The trench and shoes are awesome. Just remember you can justify any type of shopping, even if there are other more important things you need to do :)

So when is the best time of year to BUY a trench? It always seems like I’m looking at the wrong time - Gap and co used to have theirs out just after the Christmas stuff, but we PacNW’ers need them way before that.

I guess the internet search is the way to go?

Well, I believe that most stores will put out their main pieces right at the end of summer, before the fall chill dashes out any hope of more summer weather. But, right before winter, they change out the trenches with pea coats and wool… So that’s when they’re most likely to be on sale! =)

xoxo!

No kidding! I would -kill- for a Burberry trench. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any Burberry sample sales or major blowouts, so I’m left with my pretty black GAP one.

A girl can hope, though!
