Get a Whole New Wardrobe for $60-$80!

It’s time to shop for winter – I get it. I’ve been blasted with every newsletter conceivable screaming “BUY THIS LONG SLEEVED CASHMERE DRESS!

DON’T FORGET KNEE HIGH BOOTS!

GET THESE SCARVES ASAP!

… Okay! I get it! Cold, brr… Need warm clothing! New wardrobe for fall and winter! Need! Jeez!

But, as we all know, I don’t have the money for 16 cashmere sweaters in every color of the rainbow… Nor do I have the budget to replace all my sleeveless dresses with sleeve-full ones. What’s a chilly girl to do?

While browsing the fantasy site Net-a-porter.com, and came across this amazing 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent Draped Back Tunic Dress in a beautiful dusty rose color. Belted at the waste, interesting cut, good length… c’est magnifique! It’s even on sale for $132!

Unfortunately, I noticed that a) it had short sleeves and b) the beautiful draped back doesn’t allow a bra. I have some tig-ol’-biddies, so that’s a dealbreaker…

So, sadly I scrolled through the photos, dreaming of what could have been… Then I saw this photo:

YES! Of course! A long-sleeved, thin knit turtleneck fits beautifully beneath any dress! Sleeveless, short sleeves, 3/4… The possibilities are endless! It even covers a bra strap going across the back, while still showing off a great cut!

I must have this! I must! It’ll turn all of my summer and early-fall dresses immediately into winter wear with the addition of tights and boots.

So the perfect turtleneck has specific qualities that are necessary, I’ve decided:

  • Thin rib-knit will allow seamless appearance under dresses.
  • The longer the sleeve, the chic…er? your outfit will be.
  • Made of natural fabrics! This will prevent pilling, stretched-out-ed-ness, and the garment will last longer as a result. There ought to be a little stretch, but you shouldn’t be able to fit a thigh through an arm hole, know what I mean?
  • Basic colors: black, white, grey, brown, navy if you dare…
  • Not too tight of a neck – a girl has to breathe, you know!
