Engagements: Out of curiousity…

Posted on 09.28.08 to Polls by Lindsay

This may just be a silly question that my silly head came up with at 1am after a long day, but…

Are there any ladies out there that would rather receive a pair of really expensive, exquisite shoes as a replacement for a diamond engagement ring?

I was thinking about it, and I’m… actually torn! I love rings, but hate diamonds. If I were to receive something from Tiffany’s, I think I’d take it. However, would I exchange a non-Tiffany’s engagement ring for a pair of timeless, designer heels?

Hmm…

Would you sacrifice a diamond engagement ring for a pair of couture or designer shoes?

I’m not big into diamonds, but…I do love Opal. Love it. That ring is amazing. I would trade in a diamond ring for THAT in a New York minute!

Opals are DEFINITELY *my* version of diamond… They’re so beautiful!

an engagement ring is a gift from the heart of another. I would never trade it. Perhaps other things will follow down the line. the best to get a man to never remember to buy birthday, anniversary, valentine’s day gifts is to complain or trade it in. The way to encourage more gifts is to praise the giver on his thoughtful gift to you.

likewise, the man who complains, finds fault with your cooking may find himself no longer having homecooked meals:). Everyone likes to have their gestures appreciated.

My friend proposed to a girl who wasn’t a fan of diamonds either. Instead he got her a pearl engagement ring and THAT was just right.

Ooooh, pearls are so underappreciated! That sounds lovely!

I don’t really want a plain diamond ring, I actually want something with pink diamonds and yellow topaz OR I’d definitely settle for the black Rodarte Loubs. They’re my favorite. I wonder if I could register at Christian Louboutin when I get engaged…

I LOVE the Rodarte Loubs!!! They’re my favorite shoes over the past YEAR, and that usually changes like 6 times… So spiky and sexy!

Okay, if I could register at Spring-08-Prada-Store (which I just made up) and Louboutin, I’d be on the internet looking for a mail-order husband. Sorry, current bf Conor!
