Yes, it’s coming. The 18 hour days for employees, the 4 hour lines just to get in the door for shoppers… *shudder* Absolutely terrifying. Why do you think I crawled out of the store-isphere and into the blogosphere?! It’s totally because of days like Black Friday.
And I thought that I was in the clear…
Then, as I was being interviewed for Women’s Health Magazine, The lovely gentleman on the other end of the phone utters this chilling line: “Have you ever heard of, or participated in Cyber Monday?”

Cyber Monday? “Sure”, he says. “It’s like the online equivalent of Black Friday!” (The Monday after Thanksgiving.)
Why can’t Black Friday just leave me alone!?
I envision products blipping and blooping on and off e-tailer storefronts like bubbles as they get constantly purchased… A full day of web-wide ebay-style sniping.
Luckily! A ton of my favorite online stores have started their “Cyber Monday” sales early! Thusly, Broke & Beautiful’s ever-busy gift guide season will be far less daunting than previously imagined.

I also go to great lengths to avoid Black Friday, but I have shopped Cyber Monday before. Electronics on Target’s site and a great pair of boots scored on overstock.com. That was a couple of years ago though. I usually just forget about it.

This may seem weird, but Black Friday scares the crap out of me. I don’t do crowds! I just refuse to put myself through that much strain.
I think last year was the first time I heard of Cyber Monday, but I’m always at school all day on Monday so I haven’t really had the time to hit up the online shops.

I have heard to Cyber Monday and I think I actually bought something one year, maybe last year, but for the life of me I cannot remember. Seems much easier and SAFER than Black Friday. That’s for sure. I am a little hesitant to even go out today.

Never have shopped at black friday though I have lived thru the hell working from like 4am til 5pm………..
Never heard of cyber monday!! Wish I had known about it, because I definitely just ordered an electronic fm transmitter from wal mart today!
