I’ve decided to make a post about my history buying things from ebay and thrifting, as its the most ecologically-friendly method of shopping, not to mention extremely discounted!
So, here’s the deets:
I don’t have one.
Right, I don’t have a history of buying things on eBay, or thrifting… I’m a total and complete newbie at both! Well, less a newbie when it comes to eBay as I’ve sold many things… But I have no idea where to look as far as cool eBay stores, or how to thrift efficiently.
It seems that every time I go into a thrift store or GoodWill, all I find is oversized Christmas sweaters (not my bag), and granny-style penny loafers. Ack!
So, teach me! What are your favorite stores? Do you HAVE an eBay store to share? What should a new thrifter look for while shopping in a consignment store or second hand store? Anything to be careful of?
I’m the grasshopper now – teach me!
xoxo.

Hey Miss Elle! Here are a few of my favorite ebay stores:
1. book-plus – bought a fab book “A Year In High Heels” and they shipped it immediately. Great prices and selection!
2. govintagegreen
3. street-moda – They have stylish shoes for very cheap! My yellow pair of Bamboo wedges came from here.
I’m pretty new to eBay and thrifting too, but these are three stores that haven’t let me down. Hope that helps!

AWESOME! I trust your judgement 100%… I can’t wait to check them out!
PS – Bamboo wedges? I need to see these ASAP!
Hi! First time commenter, actually just found your site earlier today. I like girl.anachronism.vintage – got an awesome vintage zebra print dress from them a few weeks ago for TWENTY DOLLARS! bittersweetstyles, and mousevoxvintage. You can get awesome results just for searching whatever you’re looking for as well.
Really! That sounds amazing!!!
I can’t wait to check out those sites… PS – Welcome to the B&B Communi-tay! <3
Hello
I don’t have much advice as far as buying clothing particularly on eBay, but for buying on eBay in general:
If the item that you want is listed in auction format, use an automated sniping service to place your bid. Hidbid.com, bidball.com, etc.
Try doing a misspelling search for the items that you are looking for. You can try the name of the item, the brand name, etc. and exclude words that just clutter up the results.
Typojoe.com has an eBay misspelling search tool – it is simple to use and there are directions on the site if needed.
If you want to send a seller a question about an item, do not click on the “Ask seller a question” link that is located on the item listing. Copy the seller’s username, close your browser, open it back up and go to eBay and search for that seller, and then send them a question.
This way, there will be a little extra work involved if that seller wants to include the response they give you in the item description. You may be feel that this is a bit unethical, but it could lead to you saving.
Maybe search for ‘lots’ of the type of clothing that you want, purchase them with a friend, or maybe resell the items that you do not want, possibly making a profit.
I like to shop at salvation army and goodwill for their low, low prices.
The trick is goodwills in more expensive areas will have better stuff.
The most important rule is that you must browse through a lot of crap stuff to find something good.
I hope this helps!
