Personal Style: Wonderland Girl

Posted on 11.04.08 to Inspiration by Lindsay

Immediately after I say “I run a lifestyle/style/fashion blog”, people shoot their eyes from toe to tip-of-head trying to dissect “what, exactly, am I trying to do… here. *Gesture up and down*”

Well, you know what – I don’t know. I don’t know, and that’s okay. Anyone who can write their “style” down in 10 words or less, I feel bad for! In my opinion, style is something that should be consistently growing and changing. So let’s start exploring.

A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping we are becoming.

The idea of embodying dreams, living out legends, and using your day-to-day life as a platform for extraordinary adventures renders a Wonderland Girl transfixed, glassy-eyed and consumed by all that is beauty.

Spewing pastels and tulle with pearls, this girl is made for all things voluminous, precious and pretend.

I love these photos! They made me think of cupcakes and fairy tales. Thank you for sharing. I’m still trying to define my personal style without falling into some kind of lame “rocker-chic” cliche. But I think I like bright colors far too much for that to happen.

I hate trying to define my style. I never know what to say, but I do love playing dress-up which means I really, really need a petticoat like the one above! Where will I wear it? I have no idea, but it would be worn at least once!
