What a doll!

Posted on 04.17.08 to $50 and under, Inspiration by Lindsay

There’s a delicious trio in the high fashion modeling world who have been tagged as “The Dollface Girls.” This troop includes Lily Cole, Gemma Ward, and Heather Marks. All three just gorgeous. And definitely doll-like.

While I can honestly recognize that… without severe and awful amounts of plastic surgery, I’ll never have a naturally button-shaped mouth, or eyes like the big bad wolf… But I can fake it!

The key is in emphasis. You want the eyes to be the focus, and the lips to appear full, but understated. So my weapons for this mission are as follows:

LORAC Pencil for Eyes, #01 Dark Brown
$14

This is a dark brown eyeliner! It needs to NOT be black, as black will make your eyes look smaller, and we don’t want that. Since brown is a bit warmer, it’ll blend with your skintones better and therefore make your eyes look wider. But the real trick is here…:

e.l.f. Eye Widener
$1

Can’t beat that price! And no, this isn’t a kit that comes with toothpicks to prop your lids open… It’s a white pencil that you glide along the upper and lower waterlines with! You’ll be amazed at how open and bright your eyes look…

Palladio Lip Gloss in “See Thru”
$3.99

The two important concepts for the lips are glossy and nude. Sounds like a good New Year’s Eve party, no? The gloss will add some volume to your pout while the nude-ness will keep the focus upwards on your eye(balls).

Stay tuned for more doll parts…

xoxo.
