70% off at ShopBop, a Happy Elle Makes
Posted on 01.29.09 to $100 and under, Sales by LindsayEvery so often, when I feel like prices have been too high lately, or that the quality of clothing is on its way down, I hit up Shopbop’s sale section. The various organizational methods set off the super-nerd in me… the 30% off section, the 50%, the 70% (my favorite)… You can search by category, or check out their “under $100″ section. It’s as good as Valium, I say.
Anyway, I digress. They’ve got some ridiculous pieces in their 70% off section today – things I’ve never seen at these prices. And because today I don’t feel like saving the best for last, here’s the best – front and center:
Frye Marta Ankle Bootie
$288 $86.40
Yes, Frye ankle boots. They remind me of the Chloe boots I’ve coveted since their unveiling, but could never afford. They even come in the classic, woodsy brown… In size 9, 9.5 (my size) and 11. Of course, they’d have my size… Why? Because I, in no way, can afford $86.40 boots right now. And this, my friends, is how life works.

A cozy wool-blend frock to hide a ling-sleeved top under for a couple more months before tossing it on over your favorite pair of shorts, and adding a chunky necklace.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Glimmer Stripe Jersey Top

Funky asymmetry and metallic threads make this shirt really awesome. A perfect fit for my “what do I wear with jeans when I lazy so that I don’t look boring” post. (It also comes in a really pretty teal.)
Pencey Coin Blouse

Yet another easy-but-not-bland top. It also comes in black with bronze-ish fleck of metal… Either way, I adore it. I can almost feel how soft the 100% silk is…
ingwa; melero Carmelia Mini Dress

The perfect “night out” dress. Forever. It also comes in this amazing royal purple color, but I had to pick only one photo, because I’m anal like that. The white is available only in large, but the purple (with black detailing at the bottom, as well) has both medium and large… Hurry!
Report Signature Gibson Hidden Platform Bootie
$250 $75
These are so unique! I love the patent grey (or black – also available) leather, and the neat toe-shape… But my favorite part of these boots is the height of the shaft! It’s not quite a bootie, not quite a boot…! So cool. Also in my size. Awesome.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Edie Sweater Dress
$298 $89.40
Well, this is certainly the most ineffective “sweater” dress I’ve likely ever seen. The description on the site says it’s “fine knit”, so I have a feeling this “sweater” is more like a “jersey” frock. Either way, it’ll be perfect for tossing over a swimsuit when happy hour rolls around.

I saw and coveted those Frye boots, then breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the available sizes. I have NOTHING that goes with them.
Then I saw the Report bootie…also not in my size. Thank God.
I love it when not having money coincides with nothing being in my size. Yay!

Great sale finds! I’ll have to find the time to stop by myself and do some ogling, although I tend to have bad luck with sales sections–usually the smaller sizes in clothes and shoes sell out the fastest. 
Haha I guess in the long run this bad luck only translates into good things for my savings account, though…

I could shop the 70% off section ALONE and never look last season. In fact, it’s hard to get me to browse what’s new, since I’m constantly combing sale goodies. It’s a bonafide addiction.
