Dressing Up With… Mapel
Posted on 09.08.09 to $150 and under by Lindsay
Mapel, who recently took the Seattle fashion scene by storm last weekend at the Boutique Culture event, has finally put the proverbial cherry on top of their New Fall Items sundae.
From the looks of things, a Mapel autumn appears to be structural, slightly minimalist, but with ultra-cozy, knit-induced warmth. Like a really pretty cup of hot chocolate with structurally sound marshmallows.
Let’s get to it!

Golan Plush Coat – $62
Mod Onseam Pocket Top – $78
Citizens of Humanity London Kelly Jeans – $86 (were $172)
Compose Zipper Tote – $48
So sleeeeek. So sleek. I love it! The dark, dark, on-sale jeans are perfect for winter, plus the pocket designs are original and not “BRAND BRAND BRAND”-y, which is important to me. I don’t like my ass to be a billboard, thank you! The most important part of the outfit, obviously, is the top. A) It has pockets, B) it’s monochromatic, which I am also, C) empire seaming, folks. If there’s another cut that makes anyone’s boobs look good, I’d love to see it.

BB Dakota Watson Wubby Jacket – $62
Kersh Drape Neck Sweater – $32
Citizens of Humanity Amber Pacific – $156
Compose Bronze Moto Bag – $48
Honestly, that draped top and the sweater wubby jacket are on my perma-wishlist, which is the wishlist I actually use as a wishlist. I love the versatility of the draped sweater (in grey, please). It could go with anything! Do anything you want it to! It’s like your BFF in a sweater. The jeans have a beautiful, classic 70′s rise and the perfect amount of fading/distressing. Then, the Wubby jacket… Is just… It’s the first time I’ve seen something that looks like a sheep (animal it’s emulating, so it’s okay), and continued to desire said object. (Jacket, not the sheep. C’mon.)
