Inspiration Board: Dark Glamour

Maybe it’s the nasty state of the economy, or just my 14 year old inside voice screaming “gothy subculture!”, but lately I’ve been really attracted to all things anachronistic (victorian/edwardian), architectural, and glamorous – with a little touch of “spooky”. Many people who view this inspiration board may be surprised that it’s not a total blackout – there are peachy-pinks, red, and even white in the mix. Just because it’s “dark glamour” doesn’t mean “only black”! It’s a feeling or idea, don’t take it too literally.

What a lush, gorgeous inspiration board. I’m feeling drawn to the punky more than the romantic/goth, but I still just love these looks and fun pieces.

I often feel like I can’t pull this look off because of my cutesy doll-face, but then I remember how adorable Helena Bonham Carter looks all gothed-out.

I wish you could get those boots. They were definitely my favorite, especially in the ankle.

  • Great pics. I love the gothic-meets-feminine in a lot of what you have posted, like the lace, short skirts, etc.

On the other side of the spectrum, I have been indulging in floral prints and bright colors to welcome Spring! :)

  • I love the black lace bustier with the coral-coloured lips. Love!

  • Wonder what the gothic world do if the gothic style get’s trendy. Are they ging to wear clorfull clothes to be different?
