Shoe Porn: Early Summer Edition

Posted on 05.27.09 to Shoe Porn by Lindsay

Oh, yes. I have started yet another column on B&B – this one completely devoted to shoes and the giddy, girlish glee they provide to, well, pretty much everyone.

Lately, I’ve been coveting something that’s very unusual for my style – embellished sandals. Yes, I’m talking about the semi-South-Beach sandals with the big, gigantic rock attached to the front of it. A large portion of my life has been devoted to silently laughing at these chunky, one-trick ponies, but now at the ripe old age of 24 I’m beginning to see the beauty and elegance in embellished sandals… What’s next? Jewelry with gold and silver? Yikes.

Either way, here’s what I’m loving lately…

From Endless :

Nina Women's Delphi Sandal
Nina Women’s Delphi Sandal
$88.95

Earlier on in my fashion life, I would look at an ankle strap like this one and cringe at the thought of my chopped-off legline. However, when it comes to flowy summer skirts, rolled up skinny jeans and humid evenings, I envision these going with me everywhere.

Report Women's Redding Sandal
Report Women’s Redding Sandal
$69.95

These are almost too embellished for my personal style, but I couldn’t resist all the color and action.

From Amazon:

Reef Women’s Miss Cleo Sandal
$44.95

These aren’t my favorite of the bunch (hi, they’re flat) but they’re so easy and free-looking; something you could walk all over town (or the beach) in.

Bandolino Women’s Nevina Tstrap Wedge
$64.90

When it comes to wedges, I’m extremely picky. It can’t be too chunky, too round, to slim, or too curvy. This is a perfect example of a wedge that “works”, in my opinion. Plus the small, tortoiseshell rings are adorable.

Jessica Simpson Women’s Hogan Wedge
$49.99 – $77

We all know how I feel about Jessica Simpson’s “creations”. I chose this sandal because a) it didn’t resemble anything I’d seen elsewhere, so the chances of it being a knockoff are slim, and b) I LOVE coral and brown together.

From NineWest.com:

Rosacious
Rosacious
$89 $69.99

These might be my favorite sandals of the bunch. Not too pretentious, but definitely interesting and eye-catching. Plus, can you think of anything they wouldn’t go with?

Stefania
Stefania
$89.99 (before 30% off!)

I’m usually not a huge fan of super-gold, shiny sandals… But I really like the studded rings with the ultra-shiny gold leather.

From Charlotte Russe :

Studded T-Strap Platforms
Studded T-Strap Platforms
$34.99

Hello!! These are wooden studs. How cool is that? Plus, they’re probably the most affordable shoes in this entire list – I’m smitten.

xoxo.

Never thought I’d say this, but the Jessica Simpsons are my favorite. Whoa, that felt weird.

I think this is the first pair of Jessica Simpson shoes I’ve ever REALLY liked.

Also, the last ones you posted? WOW. I love them, and I’m shocked that they’re the most affordable of the bunch!

OH MY GOD, MISSY, ARE YOU IN MY HEAD?!?!

I used those Jessica Simpson wedges in my “Dream Trip to Fiji Post” on High Heels… and when I read your description of the style, they popped in to my head. They’re not my style AT ALL, yet there’s something about them I like….

What a great round-up of embellished shoes! I think I like the last pair best because of how unusual the wooden detailing is.

I’m a closet shoe addict – I’m very careful with buying but I LOVE looking! Always searching for that unique shoe that will catch peoples eye. “Shoe Porn” totally appropriate and I eagerly look forward to more! Cheers!

I was going to comment on which ones I liked…but um…I love them all and wish they were all living in my closet and spending their days on my feet *sigh*

I KNOW, RIGHT? I’d love to spend all summer just switching these shoes around on my feets!
