When I’ve asked friends and fashionistas alike about their opinion on wedges, I often get a snarl of disgust and occasional recoil.

The most common complaint is that “wedges make your feel look clunky/huge/big/whatever”. On the flipside, I also hear the rare-but-appreciated praise regarding their comfort, support, and sometimes even aesthetic appeal.

I’ve written a few wedge-related posts – my obsession with covered wedges may ring some bells. We’ve also discussed the atrocity of sneaker wedges where, surprisingly, 45% of you said that they were right up your alley, as a result of your addiction to height, while 47% of you say “hell to the no”, essentially.

So, I’m curious. What do you think about wedge boots? I have a sneaking suspicion that these might be making their way to the forefront of fashion pretty soon…

I used to abhor them but now? sometimes? I think they can be done well.

Also, am I the only one who doesn’t hate the hoof-boots that SJP has been wearing? if the heel wasn’t cork (perhaps a dark wood) then I would be all over them.

I love wedge boots. I have several pairs that are pretty old and am glad the style is getting easier to find.

I reserve the right to judge on a case-by-case basis. It really depends on the style of the shoe overall.

I also judge on a case by case basis, but I have seen some I like! I have a pair of the Stark by Jump boots which have a wedge and are ridiculously comfortable. Not everyone’s style for sure, but I love them!

Wow, I had no idea there was such wedge animosity! I’m a big fan of this style in almost any shoe, as it gives the height of a tall hell with FAR more support.

I vote yes on almost all wedges – jury’s still out on sneaks as wedges (counterintuitive)

Sarah-Rose, you’re not alone! I actually liked her little hoof boots, too.

As for wedge boots, they’re like any other shoe to me– some pairs look great, some are awful!
