Chilled Out Florals

Sure, sure – we’ve talked about florals every freakin’ season, it seems like (such as, ahem: here, here, and here to name a few). What can we say? They’ve grown on us (oh boy). Every season, we seem to drift towards a new interpretation of florals – be it bright and cheery, watercolor and painterly, or dark and moody.

This fall and winter season, we’re loving the icy tones of chilled out florals.

Fall Trend 2011: Icy Florals

Wintry florals from Fall 2011

Not to get all morbid on you, but the look of these florals reminds me of the way nature takes over nature, and serves as the end-point of a life cycle. I know – creepy and faux-etic, but it’s kind of cool, right?

Big, bright florals are usually reserved for, well, the times that flowers are blooming and whatnot. Having a gorgeous, winter version is really attractive. But, considering just the blouse version of that amazing Jil Sander coat? dress? is over $3,000… We’re going to need to scour hundreds of inventories for own own, Broke & Beautiful versions.

Fortunately, we happen to be really, really good at that.

Topshop Black Floral Skirt | $45

Chiffon Maxi Dress [Plus] | $24.99

Blue Floral Hacci Dress | $24.99

Democracy Floral Bed Jacket | $32.95
Note: This is only available in a size small! It was too gorgeous – we had to include it.

Elle Floral Pleated Shorts | $28

Pleione Sheer Floral Blouse | $14.97

River Island Cape Shoulder Dress | $31.45

That last dress is definitely going straight onto my wishlist…

What do you think of florals in the fall/winter seasons? Appropriate, or a no-go?

Probably watching Netflix.
