Happy Coincidences

I’m in a period in my life where everything is up in the air, my options are limited, and I have too few answers. (Jen, you are so dramatic!) So when things just come together, life is good.

Who knew that a pair of tights could cause a fashion epiphany?

It’s easy to get into a fashion rut, and start wearing the same outfits, over and over. I bought that shirt with those pants; I was complimented on this dress with that pair of earrings…you know how it is.

But when I woke up one morning, knowing that I would be meeting with Lindsay – who had a gorgeous pair of tights to give me – and that I wanted to wear my Five Bamboo Blueberry Dress, I suddenly realized I had a clean slate. This dress and tights were generously sent to me for review, and because I’d never worn either with any embellishment I could effectively look at my entire closet with brand new eyes.

Those eyes fell on a pair of suede Nine West pumps I’d fallen in love with on 6pm.com. And on a teal cardigan and metallic belt I’d picked up from the Gap. And a shockingly bright red scarf from Fraas, which I’d wanted to wear, but wasn’t sure what the hell to wear it with.

Then, when I got to Lindsay’s house, she handed me those nylon/lycra microfiber tights from We Love Colors, and they were the softest, stretchiest tights I’d ever worn (and I own a lot of tights).

Needless to say, an outfit was born.

A perfect pair.

It doesn’t hurt that the cherry blossoms are blooming in abundance. They’re my favorite part of spring in Seattle.
