The Purple Label: Fall 2011

I have long been a fan of 80s Purple’s ultra-affordable, in-house line, Purple Label. The prices are absolutely wonderful, considering the level of design involved in each piece. I have been a fan for a long, long time, and have devoted many a post (and almost a column) to 80s Purple, and their fall line does not disappoint.

The color palette this season is a lot brighter than I’m used to seeing from this line! Their debut collection was full of architectural, graphic blacks and white, with beautiful angles and sharp turns… This collection is much softer, with pinks and blues, blousy tops and flowing fabrics.

LOVE the gorgeous color on these Cyndi Woven Slouch Pants ($44)

The collection is flocked with separates, and only boasts one bandage-style, color-blocked dress… a very short, bandage-style, color-blocked dress. Maybe it’s just because these types of frocks aren’t my style, but it’s my least favorite piece in the entire collection. The cut-outs don’t really help, either.

The Helena Heart-Shaped Color Block Dress… Would you pay $52 for it?

In the separates department, the line is wonderful. Fantastic muted tones mixed with saturated jewel tones in all shapes and fabrics. Here is a smattering of my favorites:

Allison V-Neck Button Down ($32); Bianca Low-Back Cardigan ($64)

Olivia Woven Trouser Pants in Red ($52); Tracy Oversized Striped Sweater ($52)

Other than these gems, I do vaguely love the striped body suits that are on sale from last season. Spaghetti straps are a big illogical, yes, but they’re cute! Plus, they’re $14.99, what can I say?

Probably watching Netflix.
