Not having enough furniture is a weird, weird feeling. I recently moved from a tiny one bedroom apartment to a spacious one bedroom apartment, and now there are all of these…gaps.
My living room looks like this: bookcase, wall, wall, window, wall, radio, window, wall, wall, wall, wall, television, wall, chair, wall, wall, wall… You get the idea. There is an unbelievably number of gaps and my once-cramped furniture now has so much breathing room that it’s a little bit anxious about it.
Enter: Fashion For Home. Not only are they loaded with the most exquisitely designed furniture from all over the world (including plenty of pieces from those super clever Scandinavian designers), and for the style and the aesthetic – the prices ain’t bad. Honestly! Don’t get scared at the decimal placement on their prices – this is furniture! You have to treat it differently than your favorite basic tee, you know what I mean?
Well, you can do whatever you want, obviously, but my approach to furniture is a calculated one – I need to be sure that…
a) I’m not going to get sick of the furniture in two weeks, months or years;
b) there is enough function and form to justify spending the money; and
c) it’ll look good with multiple styles – because my style changes every few years or so – versatility is key!
