‘Mel Gibson is Bad at Fashion,’ & Other Revelations from the Marni x H&M Launch

I don’t know Marni at all, I don’t even know what you’re talking about.

Mel Gibson, your comeback is just around the corner, I can feel it.

In other less interesting news, Marni x H&M launched last night to a bevy of celebrities and a performance by Bryan Ferry, who sounded really similar to the beginning and end of any every John Hughes movie.

A gaggle of famous people were there, too. Wearing clothes, being uncomfortable in press situations, and adorable Jessica Chastain who seems to have the energy of a 5 year old, which seems to be working for her. She was joined by Drew Barrymore (who, “I mean, loves Marni”), Milla Jovovich (who feels like a “Rock & Roll Jackie O.” in the collection), and Sophia Coppola found the evening “magical” – she directed a promotional video for Marni x H&M, which I will put below this paragraph.

All of the fanciness aside, we’re pretty excited about Marni x H&M. The chances of us ever actually touching any are pretty slim (H&M looks at Seattle and says, “Oh, they’re still there? Well, make sure the employees of our two stores are still alive.” We don’t get a lot of ~fashion up here. It’s hard enough to find a Christian Siriano for Payless boot, much less a favorable Marni x H&M availability. That doesn’t mean that we can’t ogle the goods from afar, though, right?

Our Favorites from the Marni x H&M Collection

Sorry about the tiny pictures! H&M’s press site isn’t working.

Marni x H&M will launch on March 8, 2012 to 260 stores worldwide.

What’s your favorite piece from the collection? Do you think your city will get a big selection?

Probably watching Netflix.
