Personal style is always evolving, and this spring, mine has been influenced by sailor style. Stipes, gold buttons, navy and cream, rope detailing – it’s all on my wish list. I am turned off by trends taken too literally, though, so this preppy obsession has to somehow fuse with a surprising cut, a modern style…yachty with a twist. Know what I mean?
These Ann Marino Jackel striped wedges are the perfect example: they have the yachty stripes and rope-wrapped wedge, but a twenties-style t-strap and open toe add a soft, feminine quality. I want to wear these wedges to work, then slip on my other striped shoes – anchor-tattooed rope-wrapped flats, yes please – for my walk to the bus stop.
