I looked out my window yesterday while trying to think of a good Monday Wedgie and was by none other than the large, terrifying, legendary beast native only to the Pacific Northwest…

June-uary.

No, not Sasquatch – he lives in a city north of Seattle called Bellingham. No one else lives there, just Bigfoot and a bunch of filthy hippies. June-uary, on the other hand, is alive and well in my fair city, and is really starting to get on my nerves. When all the other kids are getting excited as they watch the temperature rise, Seattle kids become prematurely jaded about life as they watch the level on the barometer go down, and learn about Nimbostrasus clouds because why not? I mean, they’re there all the time, aren’t they?

So I had a big sad about it and didn’t post any Monday Wedgie on Monday. Whine.

But then, this morning, I woke up feeling refreshed and oddly comfortable with June-uary… as though I’d reached some kind of cosmic agreement with it, and felt sure that the rainy days would be worth my while. I felt so comfortable that I put my big girl pants on and found the perfect shoes for this week’s Monday Wedgie, even if it was one day late.
