I’ve been hunting and tallying my favorite iterations of summer wedges since early spring. I have big plans for my open toe summer life, and on top of that, I can’t seem to stop myself from flipping through the digital pages of 6pm’s catalogue until my eyes water… so, subsequently, I have a great list for you!
I’m looking for wedges that are seasonally dual purpose. Meaning: take me through summer and let me wear you in fall. This means open toe shoes need to look cute with tights and long pants, and closed toe shoes need to be wearable with bare legs, jeans, shorts, skirts… You get it. Versatility is a must.
Also: don’t be boring. This might be the most important criteria. Shoes can be so boring so easily, and I’m not one to fall asleep on, or because of my feet.
Madden Girl Bensson Wedges at Macy’s, were $79 now $59.25
It’s been a long while since I’ve worn something this high, but I can’t stop myself from lusting after its exaggeraged simplicity. The big, oversized buckles and the high-texture, matte heel… It’s all of my favorite things!
Sole Society Nelson Wedges, $79.95
Are these shooties? You know, shoe booties? Or something? Well, whatever they are, they nailed that color combination. I also love the zipper on the side, and am glad the designers didn’t try to hide it!
Black “Mel” Wedge Jellies at Dorothy Perkins, $89
These are perfect for the gal who loves to dress to the nines to skip rocks on the beach. Yes, these are jellies! I have seen a renaissance of jelly shoes over the last few months, but these are the first wedges I have encountered… and I don’t hate them!
BCBGeneration Megan Wedge Sandals at Sierra Trading Post, were $89 now $61.95
I don’t have any shoes that are white. In fact, I don’t have any shoes that have white on them, save for a pair of terribly loud sneakers (that I may never wear but can’t get rid of). I would love to have a little brightness injection by way of these simple but timeless sandals. They’d look awesome with everything!
ASOS Hansel Wedges, were $77.39 now $38.69
I had to throw something bright and exciting in here! This is called “Print” but I keep calling it “floral” in my head. Maybe it’s the colors… Either way, I love these damn sandals. There’s nothing like them anywhere near my closet, and that means I need them.
Rayah Wedge Sandals by Lucky Brand, were $119 now $89
…And to fully round out this, uh, round up, we needed a pair of excessively strappy, rugged sandals. I can’t help but love styles that go up the leg a little bit, as they have the same flattering capabilities as mid-calf boots… with vents! Again, these are crazy high, but I can’t deny their style.
You can’t blame me for thinking about fall already! We’re in the thick of the heat, and I have to have something to look forward to through my veil of sweat. (It’s 80 degrees, do not feel bad for me.)
