Cobalt blue is a color that doesn’t really have an obvious season associated with it. It fits in with every type of weather, every climate, and every skin tone. Lately, I’ve been drawn to it, and due to it being a color I never wear, I don’t have a single stitch of cobalt in my wardrobe.
So many shades of blue are calm and cool, tranquil and relaxing… Not cobalt blue. Cobalt blue is a shouter. It’s not neon or even electric, but the boldness of a dark-side-of-medium blue like cobalt makes it extra vibrant. There’s something about it that is very chilled out and energetic at the same time. I don’t know. It’s a cool color, and it belongs on more things that aren’t my cat’s favorite toy that I’ve been admiring staring at all week.
I used to be paranoid about pairing a cobalt blue top with a pair of jeans because both were blue, but I’m pretty sure that at this point in my life, I couldn’t care less. Bring on the blues! The more the merrier! Luckily, other people who have a larger clothing budget than I do are on the same cobalt vibe that I am, thus providing me with some fantastic outfit inspiration. But don’t worry, there are 20+ affordable pieces of cobalt blue fashion mixed in to make up the difference!
