My luck with cute shorts from Target has been pretty good. Their sizes (provided you’re shopping in the appropriate section) are pretty straight-forward, and they do a good job incorporating current trends – even some edgier stuff! – into their $30-and-under designs. There are plenty of cut-offs, but there are also plenty of bermuda shorts, twill and khaki shorts, board shorts, and cargo shorts (but cute ones).
