The Only Basic T-Shirts I Wear
Mar 06.12 / Lindsay
The only tees I wear are under $10 each. I bet you’d never guess that my 12 v-neck tees are all from the same brand, and they come from…
Monday Wedgie: Nine West Beeout Wedges
Mar 05.12 / Lindsay
No one likes Mondays. Every minute that goes by post-alarm-clock is its own special hell, and don’t pretend you chug your spinach-spirulina-haggis shake and skip to work because it’s not humanly possible. You may find that this wedgie is actually the highlight of your morning. Here’s your wedge-oscope: Much like the smooth curves on this [...]
Found: Blindingly Shiny (Awesome) Sequin Minidress
Mar 01.12 / Lindsay
Found: The Perfect Sequin Minidress …and it’s under $100! While surfing around Karmaloop, this dress jumped out at me – for obvious reason. It is so…shiny! The back has a beautiful low scoop, too. This is definitely a saucy little number! I’d wear it with black tights, I love the idea of such a contrast between [...]
In Love With Kelly: Green Heels for Spring 2012
Feb 23.12 / Lindsay
While I do enjoy Kelly Osbourne from time to time, and Kelly Rutherford is one of our eco-friendly lifestyle icons, and if we really want to talk about inspiring women, Grace Kelly is always on my list of favorite people. When it comes to greens, unfortunately I can’t say that kelly green is my favorite. It’s nice enough, [...]
Style Remake: Ali Larter’s Laid Back 70′s Look
Feb 22.12 / Lindsay
I really, really like time-period-related trends. They are my favorite. Oh, except for the 1980s. I’m sorry, I know it’s popular right now, but it is a huge mistake, you guys. This is some kind of cosmic joke that the universe is playing on us. Bring back 80s fashion? Yeesh. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid, folks. [...]
Adventurous Pants for Petites (Under $25!)
Feb 17.12 / LindsayDressing for your body can be so frustrating. I remember how blown my mind was when I realized that a woman could be straight-sized on top and a petite on bottom… Or plus-sized on bottom and petite on top! I’d never even considered that as a possibility, but thanks to the magic of the mid-200s and [...]
Go Green: Top 3 Green Polishes for Spring 2012
Feb 14.12 / Lindsay
This year keeps threatening to be one of the most colorful years we’ve seen in a long time. Almost every S/S 2012 runway was filled with blinding, energetic color, and it’s contagious. Go Green in Spring! For some reason, the green polishes that are sprouting up (trololol) everywhere have captivated my attention more than the [...]
OTBT Bee Cave Sandals + 20% off!
Feb 06.12 / Lindsay
I know these bring to mind the flatforms of yesteryear (do I seem more fashion-y when I exaggerate the amount of time that has passed?), which should make sense because they’re practically identical.
Color Play: Textured Cobalt
Jan 26.12 / Lindsay
I can’t believe how much cobalt blue suede and velvet I’ve been seeing lately! Our last trip through Marshalls yielded three pairs by three different brands! One strappy platform, one closed-toe pump, and one of those popular loafer-slipper styles that have been popping up everywhere lately. We were having trouble remembering which pair was velvet, and which was suede, but as Jen points out: “Velvet is the broke girl’s suede.”
Wallpaper Prints
Jan 25.12 / LindsayThere’s something incredibly comfortable about old memories. Old smells, old colors, old traditions – it’s warm & fuzzy. It reminds me of home, and being surrounded by familiar people and things… it’s a good, squishy feeling. It’s the same feeling I get when I look at vintage fabrics. Old patterns and prints remind me of various [...]
