You ever have that feeling like a product is following you around? You know… the jacket that the blogger wore, then you saw in your favorite movie? Or the oxfords that you almost bought at Nordstrom, but didn’t, and then saw them on Kate Moss while browsing your favorite blogs?

Well, this is mine.

This shoe follows me everywhere. I first noticed it because it was adorable & walkable & deliciously neutral yet elegant, and then because it reminded me of Jen’s “Yachty fashion” obsession (which you’ll undoubtedly hear more about). Then, I realized that the brand, Call It SPRING!, is the fine design hand behind the amazing leather & faux fur sneakers that Jen bought last year. And then I saw these damn shoes all over the web for several days. Several. I even considered them for last week’s Monday Wedgie (but c’mon… I made the right choice, let’s be real).

This is the Strawberry Fields Wedge. I have been eating strawberries for the last week, straight – making parfaits, making oatmeal, making pancakes, making strawberry bread… It’s already summer in the Seattle area and damnit, Global Warming, I’m not going to let you bring me down! I am going to enjoy the nice parts of you and hope that makes you less likely to smite us in the future… Think positive, Global Warming!

We got the tip off on these wedges from our friend Jennifer (#2), and have completely become enamored with how much summertime energy they exude! I mean, even the stitching on the bow looks like the texture of strawberry skin (the stitches being the tiny seeds on the outside), and the raffia wedge just makes me think of the baskets I used to use when I went strawberry picking as a kid. It doesn’t hurt that this wedge is my absolute favorite strap style – not quite an ankle strap & not quite a mary jane! Not only is it the most universally flattering for legs (in my opinion), but it’s also the most comfortable!

Two things I love: chunky heels and oxfords.

So why not combine them? How has this obvious pairing escaped me until January Jones took her baby (she has one?) out for a walk? Embarrassing. Really.

Now that I’ve seen it, I need it. These Frye Maggie Perforated Wingtips, yes, are freaking perfect… and they’re breaking my heart by being entirely out of my price range at $198. (But, you better believe I saved them to both my Amazon and Eyeona (which alerts me when the price drops!) wish lists. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for a slightly more budget-friendly version of these bad boys – if you know of any, leave ‘em in the comments!

What do you think if this style? Love it or hate it?

They bear a striking resemblence to my own black buckle strap wedges, but I can’t resist even the slightest variation on the design! Mine are grey, and have a much more detailed upper with additional cutouts, but the absosolute basic-ness of these Madden Girl Gipsey Wedges is driving me mad with infatuation. Everything is just so perfectly simple, making them exceedingly versatile! (I wear mine so frequently, they’ve become a “basic” to me.) The price point is making this too good to resist…

Let’s cut to the chase: we messed up. Again.

Yet another Monday goes un-wedgied, and you’re right, this is unacceptable. How is one supposed to manage this life without a weekly, scheduled dose of delicious wedge candy? You’re not. No one should have to endure that, and for this, we are eternally sorry.

Fortunately, we were able to dig up this bright & fine specimen in hopes that it will brighten your day, as well as your opinion of our posting consistency… Not a bribe, I swear! Just a peaceful display of our gratitude for your patience.
