I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting to wear this skirt by Jeffrey Sebelia (yes, that’s the Jeffrey from Project Runway), ie. Cosa Nostra – and today was finally the day. It’s not “technically” a “pokey skirt”, but I love referring to it by that name, because it’s one of my favorite attributes of the skirt.
Do you like my new bookshelf? Yes! I finally have furniture! There will need to be an update on that soon…
Today was abnormally cold for what you’d expect from Chicago in August. It’s been in the mid- to low-sixties since I got home on Thursday, and I’m displeased (as I always seem to be when I post about the weather).
This skirt is made of a beautiful, thick material and – yes – it has pockets. Oh, how addicted to pockets I am. Some days I wonder if I hope for rain and cold just so I can utilize whatever pockets I’m currently sporting.
I know the skirt looks blue, but it’s actually… plaid. It’s a navy background with a really delicate and beautiful pinky-purple plaid design all over it.
The top is just an old (like 3 years old) Forever 21 top, which I also have in white. That concludes my closet’s Forever 21 inventory and I am a-okay with that. The top underneath it is my treasured Poof thermal top I was ever-so taken with a bundle of months ago. It’s still just as soft and thin as it ever was, but now it has an amazing orange stain right in the center of the damn thing, so it’s been banished to the world of “undershirts”. A sad day, indeed.
I’m wearing my favorite Steve Madden spectator pumps, but failed to get a decent photograph with them on. My apartment is getting all filled up with fun and games, so there aren’t many blank, white walls upon which to showcase my amazing shoes. :(
Please enjoy this close-up of my boobs, and the skirt:

Lovely skirt - it is really unusualy at the same time as being totally wearable. I also admire how you have managed to layer the clothe to really work with it!

Amazing skirt. The detailing makes it so unique but it's very versatile at the same time.
Lauren & Lisa: I was shocked at how wearable this pokey-poke skirt was! It even goes with almost any COLOR, not just style! It's probably my favorite skirt in my closet right now. (Which isn't saying much, as I have only 3, but WHATEVER.)
What a buy! I'm completely enamored of your pokeyskirt, doll.

You're adorable and everything, but that skirt could not be more unflattering on you!! love your shoes though.
Annya: Well, I'm a bigger girl and not everything is going to make me look thin, or flatter. I wear this skirt because I love the design, and I love the look. If I only wore things that totally flattered me, I'd be missing out on all kinds of great designs! :)
That skirt looks great on you! So perfect for fall, super flattering, and very unique. Also versatile! Great pics, thanks for sharing!
