Earth Week :: ECIG Idia’Dega

I’m so excited to share today’s Eye Candy/Indie Genius designer with you because they completely rocked my world with their collection and promotional video. I have to be honest and say that Idia’Dega‘s prices are a little out of my typical ECIG price range, but the clothes were so amazing, I had to share.

How amazing? Just take a peek at their promotional video on ShopFlick.

The hottest, right?

Idia’Dega has an amazing story of conception. Designer Tereneh Mosley was inspired, in every sense of the word, to create her brand based on her experiences in Africa.

I won an overseas fellowship to study indigenous adornment and the social-cultural context of clothing in Kenya where I received a Master’s in Fashion Design from Kenyatta University in Nairobi Kenya.  While there I met organic cotton farmers, planted trees in the forest recovered and saved by Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Wangari Maathai and saw first hand the devastation of climate change and poverty.  This made me decide if I am going to make clothes, a love and passion I cannot ignore, I have to make them sustainable and responsible.
