You’re taught in elementary school about “the color wheel”, including information on complimentary colors, mixing colors and, of course, clashing colors – colors that don’t mesh.
This, my friends, is what keeps people in red + blue, green + yellow, black + white… They’re definitely good combinations, but c’mon… You have to be honest: they’re not very adventurous.
Yellow and grey, together, have been one of my favorite “unconventional” combos for a long time. I love the way that the brightness of the yellow plays with the cloudy, gloominess of grey.
Leyendecker Colorblock Top
$242 $96.80
There’s something very serious, yet very playful about the combo. The overall temperature of the two is a cool one, but the yellow offers a kind of light warmth that makes the outfit very approachable and sweet.
NY&Co Comfortzone 2×2 Leopard Tank
$19.95 $9.97
My favorite part about this tank is that it doesn’t look like it’s messed up leopard print – it just looks like a beautiful splash of color.
NY&Co Yellow Drawstring City Shorts – $26.95 $7.99
Autumn Cashmere Cotton V-Neck Sweater
Naughty Monkey Dayliner Pump
$79.99
These would be so easy to slide under anything for a blaze of sunny color and a little graphic action.
What do you think of this uncommon color combo?
xoxo.

I wish I had the hips to get away with those shorts. They are yum. I love yellow. You have to work sometimes to get it not to make your skin look weird, but if you find the right yellow for you, it's fabulous.

I think I like it better than yellow and black
I love these pieces, they really show how yellow just Pops with the grey but isn't as hard a contrast as yellow and black. I love that tank as well, it would go great with the shoes!
I really like those pumps, and can see myself wearing them under almost anything - especially since I tend to gravitate toward neutrals. This color combination is a perfect way to transition into spring in Seattle!

Love this colour combo!
Oooh, I love that leopard print top! I personally think yellow and gray look best together when it's a brighter yellow. These are some great pieces. :)
