I have no holiday parties to go to, as I may have mentioned 5 times before. What can I say? I’m a little bummed. I have no place to wear adorable dresses. I have no excuse to use be, or use arm candy.
Then I came across these decadently styled pictures on Tumblr (one seen above) and got even more resentful that I have no fancy soiree to attend. Then, to make matters worse, I saw this excellent photo of Salvador Dali and some dames (can anyone identify them?):
I love the silhouette of a boxy, short-sleeve, party dress. There’s something very coquettish and adorable about the style, and best of all, they good with tights. Plus, pretty much any shoe, flat or tall. I also really love the idea of putting a shrunken trench or peacoat over any of these – bonus points if the coat is shorter than the dress!
Shadow Art Dress | $52.99
The strong shoulders on this are amazing!
BCBGeneration Confetti Print Dress | $89.60
If you look at the print on this, you’ll see that it’s immensely adorable.
Express Embellished Tee Dress | $59.90
Muted, embroidered, drape-y, and belted… Is this the perfect dress?
TFNC Metallic Dress | $63.63
I am so in love with the back of this dress… Definitely too short for me (without leggings/skinny jeans), but otherwise lovely.
You’re Working Wonders Dress | $49.99
A good, basic, plain-Jane dress. Those are never bad things!

Lovely shoulders and shape on those dresses - the shorter the better. I say the hell with wearing it to a party - why not wear one anyways when you're out for dinner or brunch? Any excuse to get dolled up!
