Distracted By a Bogo

I’m trying to be more disciplined.

While my busy life works best with a schedule – my main “blog work” days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening, and Monday nights are for doing nothing productive at all – there’s always something that gets in the way. You know how it is: you’re in the middle of a project and your partner calls with a need to vent, you’re about to leave for work and the dog suddenly throws up, you’re almost ready for a show you’ve been dying to see and the zipper on your favorite bag snaps.

Or, in my case last night, you drive by a Payless on the way to the coffee shop, which is where you go to work when you need peace and quiet and your boyfriend is anything but…and you start thinking about how you need a new pair of comfortable, almost-flat sandals.

Guys, I was so good. I didn’t stop at the Payless; I barely even gave it a second look. I went into that coffee shop and I worked. It was awesome.

But this morning, I got a notification that Payless is having one of its Bogo sales. Bogo = Buy one, get one half off, anything in the store.

Can I leave work early today for a shopping trip, please?

Knautical Cork Sandal + Vinyard Studded Flat Sling
$26.99 + $24.99 $12.50
Total Cost: $39.49

Cute heels for a garden party, and flats for the impromptu decision to move said garden party to the beach. I love the pattern on the first pair – so fun.

Happy Bow Peep Toe Sling + Piper Ruffle Flip Flop
$26.99 + $24.99 $12.50
Total Cost: $39.49

I never wear my “office heels” on the bus: it’s a disaster waiting to happen. (I’m also often running late and have to sprint while yelling, “WAAAAIT” at the driver. Not my finest morning moments, let me tell you.) The flats are cute enough for a happy hour if your feet ache, and the heels are perfect for absolutely anything you’re planning to wear to an office this summer. Yep, anything.

Lockleer Flower T-Strap Sandal + Sapphire Glitter Stretch Sandal
$27.99 + $22.99 $11.50
Total Cost: $39.49

These shoes adequately represent the inner child I do not possess. The above inner child is much more girly and sweet than I ever was, but I still like the idea of her. The second pair are my dream casual summer shoes: stretchy, a little sparkly, and easy to care for. They also come in black and pewter.

Topaz Twisted Sandal + Jacey Clog Sandal
$44.99 + $24.99 on sale for $19.99 half off the sale price at $10.00
Total Cost: $54.99

A little ostentatious, a little “I don’t give a damn.” I love them both. The first are part of the Christian Siriano for Payless line, and their…I don’t even know what to call it…pattern is so, so cool.

If any of these strike your fancy, strike while the iron is hot: the Bogo sale ends Monday, May 16, and is available online and in-store.

Do you already have your summer footwear? What’s your favorite summer shoe trend?

  • LOVE all of these, especially the vinyard studded flat sling and Topaz twisted sandal! Ive been looking for a great pair of flat sandals for summer!
P.s. Im loving espadrilles this summer!

  • Loving your first and last selections! Every pair of Fioni heels I've bought have been so comfortable and lasted through years of regular wear.

  • Cute! I used to laugh at people that shopped at Payless.. but that was before I recently walked into a Payless. At the time I hadn't been in a Payless for maybe 10 years! People probably used to think I was one of THOSE girls, but I'm not. From what I remember of Payless in my pre-teen and early teen years it wasn't preety. I had no idea that they completely changed their look and have such a great selection of cute styles! I purchased a few AE flats several weeks ago. You picked some adorable shoes to share. Thanks!

  • Those are cute. I can totally relate to trying to improve my time management skills. I had no idea my blog would take up so much time, especially in the beginning. I'm starting to workout a routine though. Glad to read you are making it work.
