I’m Wearing: The Easiest

Bloggers of the style persuasion tend to give off this air of utter elegance, more often than not, and the illusion that they are perfectly prepped, primped and produced every day, regardless of schedule. I, perhaps obviously?, have never been able to pull off such work, and I am pretty sure that I’m okay with it.

I am a lazy workaholic, you might say. I work from home, so non-pajama clothing is not necessarily an obligation. Depending on my workload, I sometimes camp out in my pajamas all day – it’s true. However, I get motivated by clothes. Being comfortable is necessary – that’s clear – but I also like to not walk down the hall to get my mail in Costco men’s sweatpants and a gigantic t-shirt.

I think that I have subconsciously (and potentially against my own will) challenged myself to a sartorial battle of wits in 2011. I seek the most perfect balance of comfort and design… Sure, everyone does, but I’m talking about designing a wardrobe around it. Everything I wear, I want to be able to be abnormally comfortable, and at a moment’s notice, be able to convert an outfit from super-cozy work-wear to glitzy, high-style whatever.

My first attempt is a sleepy one, just as the morning was. Fortunately, Boyfriend and I raided the outlet malls outside of town and scored a ton of new stuff from Banana Republic and Gap at around 60% off.

I’ve always wanted to try one of those “oh! You caught me walking somewhere” shots. Probably will not repeat. Ever. Again.

I’m having a bit of a whirlwind affair with skinny cargo pants lately. I finally found some with zippers on the calf, which I’ve been looking for forever.

These are my Miss Sixty shoes that Jen bought me for my birthday last year. They are so, so, so narrow, but I will keep them forever because they are the most beautiful shoes. The leather is so nice, there is a gorgeous platform, and the studded harness is really, really sexy. Don’t pretend it isn’t.

I need to stop doing this when I’m dead tired. BUT! I needed an excuse to show off my magnificent new print from Seattle artist, Nikki McClure. We got two and we are probably going to get more – they’re so awesome!

Note to self: SMILE EVER.
