Totally feeling you on the boring t-shirt material solid-color maxis. They wash terribly and get nubbies on them so quickly. The one-sleeve Bar III dress is my fave. So elegant!
Isn't it pretty? It would make weird tan lines, but not as weird as that U-back dress...
The Bebe V-neck has six things going for it:
1.The bold coloring [LOVE it!]
2.The deep neck, which [as it were] draws the eye.
3.The V pattern, in broad stripes, which - with the light on top and the dark at base at the tank portion, holds the drawn eye to accent the positive while minimizing the waistline.
4.The continued pattern down the dress, which further elongates the wearer's form [good for women of more solid stature, where most pencil skirts fail.]
5.The knit fabric itself, which drapes well.
6.The graduated A-line skirt to the waist, which flatters nearly every figure.
7.The simple lines to the dress itself, which places the focus on the person wearing the dress, rather than the construction of the dress itself. [I'm not sure how to phrase it, but you've seen where it appears that the clothing is wearing the model, rather than the model wearing the clothing, right? The simple style avoids that.]
8. Even in just looking at the dress, you can see how comfortable it would be to wear in warm summers.
9. The color palette lends itself to easy accessorizing - any of the basic black, white, gold, silver, or even some shades of brown items already in most "standby" wardrobes would work well with this one.
