I’ve had a day or so away from fashion week, being dumb and migrainey, and the first collection I saw this afternoon was lackluster. (Sorry, Isaac Mizrahi, but the concept…and the poodles…didn’t make up for it what I consider a “meh” line.) But then – then! – I saw L’Wren Scott’s Fall 2011 Ready to Wear line.
And I audibly gasped.
And then I said – again, audibly – “Shut your dirty mouth.”
What can I say? Like Lindsay, sometimes I find clothes to be a bit of a (mostly platonic) turn-on.
You know that oversize trend? The one I keep saying I hate? Never mind.
L’Wren Scott covered all kinds of feminine sex appeal with this collection, but it was never overt, or brash. Instead of raised hemlines, she used bright color, texture, body-skimming silhouettes…and did I mention the fucking shoes?
As you can see, these are necessary for my life to be even remotely comfortable in 2011.
This entire line is so put-together, so tucked-in and body-confident. Even the velvet and snake print are used in a classy way: in a peek-a-boo short skirt, with a bosom-covering (attached?) stole.
And okay, maybe there are a few raised hemlines…
What do you think of L’Wren Scott:
Are the snake print and raised hemlines too much?

I'm totally with you, clothes are a hell of a turn on. I won't begin to tell you what Lauren's collection did to me.
And this look with the crosses belt, like Lolita receives her first Communion?
Berries' juice and nude cape, and the shoes, and the lace gloves, oh my.
I think I'm gonna burn in hell.
Couldn't agree with you more about L'Wren Scott's line: sick! (in a good way) AND agree about Mizrahi: sick! (in a bad way)
I'm a big fan of brokeandbeautiful -- and I find your candid and brazen commentary hilariously refreshing :)
