Marc Jacobs’ Unique Layering

Marc Jacobs sent layers and layers of dots down the runway – also layers and layers of… socks?

As for the shoes – I can’t believe I love Marc Jacobs shoes. Never once have I liked MJ shoes. He’s funky, and sometimes a little funky for me. But these? I think I spied some velvet on those mid-calf boots, and the happy medium between stripper and Victorian era peddler is something I can always appreciate.

  • You know, I love it and hate it. I like the idea of socks over tights - knee-highs stay up way easier that way - but I'm not sure if I love the cutesy ankle socks over tights...thing.

  • My love for MJ shoes wavers from collection to collection, but these shoes are grand. Plus, I've been feeling the whole socks over tights thing, but I did it the other day and I had my ankle wrapped in an ACE bandage because it was hurting a bit, and I think I cut off circulation. Oops! I had too many layers, lesson learned. Haha

  • Layering is always a great way to experiment with textures and colors.
But above all: thights+socks+heels is a good way to have the best of several worlds: warm feet, something flattering on the legs and the inches for the silhouette.
    I say: necessary.
