TMI Tuesdays: Miracle Tool?

During this whole July Challenge extravaganza, I’ve been presented with the joys and the pitfalls of self-maintenance in the beauty department.

Basically, there weren’t NOTD (Nails of the Day) photos for the first week or so because, well… things got ugly. Real ugly. Nail polish everywhere, cuticles shining with metallic polish, paint somehow dried on the underside of my nail… The learning curve was pretty steep. Fortunately, the broke-ass soldier that I am, I ventured forth.

Along the way, I discovered a key tool that I’m pretty sure I need for at least 6 different beauty-related reasons, and over 45 Macguyver-related reasons:

Fran Wilson Nail Tees Precision Applicator | $2.99

Pointed. Cotton. Swabs.

Are you serious? These just materialized on Amazon, right? I’m not so out of the beauty loop that these have existed every time that I fervently paced the aisle of the drug store… right?

Fran Wilson Eye Tees Cotton Tips 80’s | $2.99

I can’t count the number of uses I could think of for these things…

  • Gross nail polish paint-outside-the-lines incidents
  • Liquid eyeliner mishaps
  • Kitty eye boogers (AM I RIGHT?)
  • Cleaning jewelry
  • Tiny, annoying, projectile “missiles” (get ready, boyfriend)

I’m in love.

Have you experienced an amazing multitasker? (This one, or others?)

I’m pretty enamored with the idea of multitaskers – possibly a new B&B column in the works!

  • Hahaha! They've always been around!
This is awful but I do my thumbs last and just use them to clean up my edges.

    Kitty eye boogers definitely! ;)

    • I'm sure they've been around for millions of years, but I am SLOOOOOOOOW TO LEEEEARRRRNNN, hahaha. :D

  • I love those! I use the dual tip cotton swabs for makeup application. I never use the applicators that come with the makeup.

    • Really! Is there a reason for that, or do you just prefer the dual tip swabs for application reasons?
