WYW: Palazzo Pants?

I remember a couple times in the last decade when palazzo (read: really freaking wide, long) pants made appearances among the rich & shiny. Once against, they’ve emerged on the unfairly-long legs of Anne Hathaway.

At first, i was confused. Then, I was hurt. Then, I was intrigued… And now I just don’t know what to think!

Actually, at first, I thought it was a maxi skirt. When I thought it was a maxi skirt, I really liked the look. When I realized that they were palazzo pants… I felt like I wasn’t supposed to like them, but I didn’t really know why.

I think that there are some rules that go along with this type of pant. Obviously (obviously?), you would want to have a more fitted top over these billowing bad-boys. I think it also couldn’t be… boring. You know? Like, I don’t think you could just throw on an Alternative Apparel v-neck and call it a day. I think that whatever you pair it with would have to be interesting enough to balance out the fact that you’re wearing curtains as pants.

Oh, and platforms. Duh.

How do you feel about palazzos? Are we on good enough terms to call them palazzos? You know, instead of palazzo pants?

Lindsay: Probably watching Netflix.

  • I don't think I could pull this off. With my short stubby let's-be-nice-and-call-them-legs i'd look redonkulous.

  • I love them! I've been wearing pants like this for the past year now, strictly for comfort-but-still-look-put-together reasons. If they are in trend now, I'll be able to find them in stores with more ease!

  • I've always loved palazzo pants... I recently saw some in a consignment store in Boston and my friend thought I was insane for loving them. I'm a huge fan of statement pieces and I'm also a huge fan of mixing patterns, so I just absolutely adore Anne Hathaway's outfit..

But, yeah... I don't think there's anything wrong with rockin' these bad boys.
