Drugstore Deals: BB Cream Under $15!

The prices that accompany most skincare and facial cosmetics astound me. In my old age of 28 or 27, I know that when it comes to beauty, you typically get what you pay for. …Typically.

Expensive beauty products might have a lilt of luxury accompanying their “beautifying” powers, but that certainly isn’t the only place you can find such decadence! Drugstore brands have been neck in neck with luxury brands for years now.

Walking through a Walgreens (or even Seattle’s local Bartell’s Drugs) ffers at least 30 yards of Bright-Ass Beauty Wall, covered from floor to ceiling with everything you could possibly need to clog your pores on a daily basis. There’s gotta be something in there that works! And with the drugstore price tag – why not give something new a try every once in a while?

A recent addition to my radar: BB Cream.

BB stands for beauty balm. Or blemish balm or blemish base or, uh… beblesh balm, if you’re in Korea (allegedly due to a trademark on the word “blemish.” It’s a crazy world out there, folks.) I’ve been hearing about BB Cream non-stop for the last 5 months. It seems like it’s all anyone wants to put on their face! Part moisturizer, part primer, part concealer, part foundation, part sunblock – you get where this is going. BB Cream is hailed to perform miracles on skin’s appearance.

Honestly, that sounds like it’s worth a try. You know what’s not worth a try? $60 BB Cream. That’s like… an entire light bill! That’s a week’s worth of groceries! That’s at least six bottles of shampoo. Not ok.

Drugstores to the rescue. Here, you will find a list of # BB Creams that you can find at your friendly neighborhood (or internet) drugstore. Best of all? They’re less than $15. That’s… two days of bringing your lunch to work next week. Not so bad!

  • Tried the L'Oréal one and it just wasn't moisturizing enough which makes it difficult to apply and spread out on face. I still use a moisturizer underneath it which kinda defeats the purpose of an all in one cream. The lumene one looks interesting with the anti aging included. Rimmel is inexpensive, I might try that too.

  • I've tried Smashbox and Bobbi Brown, both over $15 unfortunately. Smashbox gives a more matte finish but both work nicely. The Bobbi is my fave because it feels lighter and looks more natural to me, like I'm not wearing anything and my skin just happens to be pretty and bright. I would like to hear something good about a cheaper one though!
