Prints A-Blazing: Jackets Under $100

Everyone is starting to experiment with prints – printed fabrics, patterned garments –  and it’s making my shopping mall stalking sessions a whole lot more colorful and exciting. I’ve been seeing everything from printed boots to printed trench coats, and everything in between.

I like these because they fit nicely into my fashion arsenal, which has been crafted to make it as easy as possible for me to find something that makes me a) comfortable and b) feel like I look interesting. Adding one of these printed blazers to the most boring jeans’n’tee outfit makes it instantly more awesome. Instantly.

Also, on the off chance that you’re like me, every now and then need you need to raid your closet like you are 4 years old who is 20 minutes late to a tea party with your stuffed animals. Prints with patterns with neon with lace… You have those days, right? Whatever, I don’t need your validation, my stuffed rabbit thinks I’m cool.

I don’t know if it was the fact that I was looking for printed blazers, but all of the models in these photos have such dramatic faces on. I have never thought of blazers in a sensual or sexual way – I mostly think of Annie Hall, to be real with you – so I’m kind of wondering why everything looks so sexualized? Maybe I’m having an extra-sensitive-to-crappy-marketing day.

I mean, look at this:

NastyGal Spotted Blazer, $68

Cool blazer, pretty girl, weird expression, awful shorts.

Anyway, this topic has become completely tangential, so let’s swing it back around to the fact that the above photo, if nothing else, proves that you can add a patterned blazer to pretty much anything and it’ll improve the overall quality of your outfit. The jacket above kicks off a series of black and white printed jackets that I want and/or need.

ASOS Blazer in Swan Print, $61.57

Patterson J Kincaid Ricci Blazer, $69.99

Mango Digitized Houndstooth Print Blazer, $49.99

Very cute, right? Black and white is always nice, too, because it makes anything more graphic & bold – both of which are exceptionally positive attributes in my world. That being said, I can’t seem to bring myself to hate vintage-y florals.

LC Lauren Conrad Floral Blazer, $51

And, of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without giving attention directly to the blazer that tops it. Maybe my favorite jacket of the bunch:

C. Luce Striped Blazer, $66.99

How would you style a printed blazer?

Lindsay: Probably watching Netflix.

  • I love all of these printed blazers, especially the spotted on from NastyGal which I think would look great with my black leather pants and a pop of color underneath!

  • Somehow a printed blazer has never occurred to me, but now that I see these they are *perfect*! I like jackets but in my office a blazer can be a bit stuffy....covered in swans or stars, though, it would be perfect.
