Review: Social Circle Cards

Prepare to meet one of my new favorite things, from both a self-employed hustler’s perspective and a design nerd’s perspective. Each one of my personalities approves of this adorable and most importantly memorable networking tool called Social Circle Cards.

These little two inch wide cards have very cute, scalloped edges and have a design on the front and back. The front typically has a graphic design that sets the mood of the card, and the back features your name as well as all of your social media channels and websites. Up to five can be listed on this tiny card including Snapchat, Instagram, email address – even YouTube channel!

As a new brand in the Paperrama family, they asked me if I would like to check out their adorable networking cards. As a lover of all things related to unique marketing tools, I couldn’t pass it up.

It took 45 minutes, but I finally settled on the card design called Anne (we all know how much I love Anne right?) which featured a chalkboard black background with graphic, peachy-pink peonies and sage green leaves. On the informational side, my first name is in white calligraphy font while my last name is in an all lowercase (my choice), clean, sans-serif font. I just love how they turned out!

They allowed me to select one of their beautiful card designs from dozens of templates. There’s something for every personality – you’ll find gorgeous designs categories like “glam,” “preppy,” “trendy,” “bohemian,” and “artsy.”

If you love floral business card motifs, you’re in luck. There are tons of amazing floral designs. As in, quite possibly the majority of the card designs are floral, and I ain’t mad about it. Here are some of the other designs that tugged at my heartstrings:

Each Social Circle Card template is named after a girl who inspired it – sometimes there’s even a cute little profile on the card’s namesake! The “Anne” my card is named after seems super cool.

If you have the skills and determination, you can absolutely custom design your own front and back. But keep in mind that new designs are being added all the time. I ordered mine a couple weeks ago, and already they have new designs to choose from on the site. Nothing about Social Circle Cards feels limiting, that’s for sure!

Ever since I shared pics of my Social Circle Cards on Instagram, people have been asking me where to get them. There’s something special about these that attract people’s curiosity – and that’s exactly what you want!

Now let’s talk about the Social Circle Card case.

This case in one word: awesome.

One of the coolest parts about Social Circle Cards is the option to include a matching Social Circle Card case. It’s designed to perfectly fit your networking contact cards while adding a totally luxurious element to the whole experience. The case is metal, has heft to it, and latches securely to keep all of your cards inside. This is extra important because the case also has a clip to attach it to your purse, backpack, necklace… whatever you want!

I had my favorite hashtag, #brokelife, added to the outside as both a conversation starter and a proud display of my Broke & Beautiful love. Are you appreciating my matching suede-like tassel? Because that comes with every case, as well! The color depends on the design you chose. Mine is a light cream color, just like my first name on my Social Circle Cards!

It looks very cute on my bag and I am very okay with that.

My case arrived perfectly but the piece that held the door closed snapped off on my first attempt at re-closing it. The people at Social Circle Cards were super understanding and determined that it was a defective case. I believe them because the rest of the case feels weighty and well-made! They replaced it without a wink – great customer service!

Okay, Social Circle Cards rule… What about the price?

Pricing is flexible based on your needs, but the basic starting order of 50 Social Circle Cards with your custom design & text, and a case with a tassel and a purse clip is $34.95. You can also start with a larger order of cards if you do a lot of events – the case comes along with 50, 100, or 200 cards.

Then, after you plow through your initial order, you can order refills of 100 cards for $39.95, or 200 for $59.95. Lose your case? Get a replacement for $19.95 with any design.

The Final Say

As for my official opinion on Social Circle Cards: I dig them. A lot. I have given these out a handful of times and every single time, the recipient says “I need to have those in my life!

Personally, I think that business cards are going the way of the floppy disk. With so much creativity in our digital generation, standing out gets more and more challenging. With cute and clever tools like Social Circle Cards, you can create relationships through your personality – even if you’re short on time. These are perfect for networking events, but they’re also perfect for daily life. Slide one across the counter at your favorite coffee shop so that you can finally become besties with the barista that knows your drink order by heart. In a time where creating relationships almost always include wifi, Social Circle Cards are a cool and smart way to bring old-school concepts into the 21st century.

In addition, connecting with someone through their social media is a comfortable way to introduce someone to your life. It starts out as a couple comments on each other’s Instagram photos, then a funny Snapchat story exchange, and before you know it, they’re on your BFF list! We live in a pretty cool time.

I’ve also started including these in my Poshmark sale packages just in case the recipient of my clothes wants to become my new buddy. Yes, I have always been overly friendly! It’s just my nature. I once left a note on my upstairs neighbor’s door that I loved the album he was blasting way too loudly. I meant it, too.
