Today marks the first day of Shopbop’s 3 day sale-sale. (That’s “a sale on sale items,” for people who are new to the #brokelife vocabulary.) They’re allowing you to take 25% off of everything in their sale section, including new arrivals, with the code 25EXTRA. The sale ends June 24th, 2016 at 11:59pm.
Then, upon clicking the link to ShopBop’s sale section, I became totally overwhelmed. Sometimes I forget that clothes on Shopbop are expensive because I almost always have everything organized by price – low to high, of course. I walked into this sale section and got lambasted with clothes that were on sale for $250. On the low end.
Shopbop’s inventory is vast and wide, so I quickly realized that there is a finite list of things I would be able to afford – even during the sale-sale – and I needed to beeline for those items, specifically. With blinders on.
Here are those things:
Panties ($8-$12 each)
Left to right: Calvin Klein Underwear Modern Cotton Boy Shorts, $8.25 (were $11); Heidi Klum Intimates Brooklyn Ambition Thong, $8.25 (were $11); Natori Feathers Hipster Panties, $11.25 (were $15); Heidi Klum Madeline Panties, $12 (were $16)
Not underwear – panties. Even though I hate that word with the fire of a thousand suns, it’s the word that means the thing I’m trying so say. So unfair. I used to use “skivvies” but two v’s next to each other is just as terrible as panties, so it’s a draw.
Shopbop has an incredibly large amount of, um, underoos from mid- and high-end designers. Once they hit the sale section, they diminish in price (usually under $16) and now with this sale, some are well under $10.
Jewelry ($10-$20)
Clockwise from top left: Madewell Keylight Ring, $11.55 (was $15.40); Rebecca Minkoff Set of 4 Earrings, $25.20 (was $33.60); Adia Kibur Sphere Bangle Bracelet, $13.13 (was $17.50); Madewell Ring Bolo Necklace, $19.95 (was $26.60)
In the past five years, I’ve purchased most of my jewelry from Shopbop. Granted, that’s only like 5 pieces of jewelry, but still. I love the jewelry designers that Shopbop carries – House of Harlow 1960, Madewell, Gorjana, etc. They are high quality, but priced mid-range. Combine that with Shopbop’s propensity for sales, and you can get out of there with some major steals.
Summer Shoes & Sandals ($15 -$27)
Clockwise from top left: Havaianas Freedom Sandals, $16.80 (were $22.40); Soludos Candy Stripe Espedrilles, $24.75 (were $33); Dolce Vita Darrah Thong Sandals, $26.25 (were $35); Kate Spade Frill Flip Flops, $25.20 (were $33.60)
In the past, I’ve picked up Havaianas and even a pair of Sam Edelmen sandals from Shopbop and couldn’t have been happier with the prices I paid after finding them in the sale section. That’s the nice thing about Shopbop – you can trust their brands. They don’t stock crap and they value quality, so if you see an unfamiliar face in the sale section that you are nervous about trying, chances are good it’ll impress you.
Honarable mention: iPhone cases. They have tons of unique and beautiful iPhone cases from designers like Kate Spade and also case-specific brands like Casetify.
Check out the sale before it ends! And tell me what you buy when you shop at Shopbop in the comments!
