Affordable Line to Love: Gemstone Jewelry from Juwelo

After coming across some old photos from high school, I started having increasingly frequent cravings for jewelry that was a little more… melodramatic. Back then, my jewelry of choice were rings and chokers. I’d stack them both, one on top of the other, until I looked complicated enough to appear interesting to my classmates. The more I jingled when I walked, the better.

Somewhere along the way, I fell out of my daily jewelry routine. Maybe it was my sudden and passionate take to baking. Before you decide I’m crazy, hear me out: Kneading dough + rings can = toothbrush jewelry cleaning time and is also not sanitary at all.

If it wasn’t the baking, I’d place responsibility on the jewelry trends in the early 2000s. Seriously, they were nothing short of tragic. My disdain for chunky, rainbow lucite rings may have destroyed more innocence than we originally thought, so it’s strange how I kind of ended up with the adult version of one. Except my beautiful new ring is full of rainbow moonstones and sterling silver – no lucite in cite sight.

This little beauty came from Juwelo, who opened up their US-based website and gave me an opportunity to shop for something. Juwelo is unique because they are a real-deal jeweler with exceptionally high quality products, but the prices are completely reasonable.

I had to pick a piece of jewelry from literally hundreds of unique and beautiful options, but my inner teen said they were going on a hunger strike in the backseat of the car* until I bought a moonstone, opal, or turquoise ring.

So that’s what I did. I mean, what choice did I have? They sent over the most beautiful ring, and it’s loaded with moonstones.

These aren’t dollar store rings masquerading as fine jewelry. This beautiful statement ring has a base of 925 Sterling Silver and include 1.18 carats of rainbow moonstones. It even came with a certification of authenticity card, should anyone ever dare to question it.

Again, Juwelo is a certifiable, legit jeweler. They actually started making it big by selling jewelry on television in Europe! They’re a direct-to-consumer business which allows them to sell this jewelry at these prices. They also have a close relationship with their jewelry makers in Thailand where all of their jewelry is made. With offices based in Berlin, opening their US store has been a really exciting opportunity for them to bring Americans what they love most: cheap, beautiful, high quality stuff.

The Gems of Juwelo

I’ve always had a thing for iridescent gemstones, so moonstones and opals were (and still are) at the top of my list. Luckily, those gems are on the affordable end of the jewelry spectrum, and Juwelo has a whole bunch of them for between $29-$49. There are a few rings in there that are outside that range, but they’re still less than $100.

Rainbow Moonstone Ring, $49
Rainbow Moonstone Ring, $29
Mezezo Opal Ring, $49
Rainbow Moonstone Silver Ring, $39 $29
Kalimaya Opal Ring, $59 $39
Boulder Opal Gents Ring, $29 $19
Rainbow Moonstone Silver Ring, $29
Leopard Opal Ring, $49 $29

Don’t let my taste limit you, though. On Juwelo’s website, you can search by gemstone. They have over 70 different gemstones in stock, including but not limited to:

  • Emeralds
  • Jade
  • Sunstone
  • Tanzanite
  • Howlite
  • Citrine
  • Amethyst
  • Prehnite
  • Feldspar

If you have a favorite gemstone, crystal, or mineral, chances are good you’ll find it on some extremely beautiful, affordable jewelry from Juwelo.

My ring came packaged in a beautiful black box with black velvet inside. I appreciated that Juwelo only put their logo and not the name of their company inside. It made the packaging seem less about the marketing and more about the jewelry inside.

Additionally, it came with a credit card sized proof of authenticity. I’m not sure when you’d need this, but it’s a nice reminder that your new jewelry is made from awesome, genuine materials.

I wanted to wear this on my ring finger, so I ordered a size 8 and it fit me really nicely. It’s so damn pretty, and in addition to the blue-purple-pink reflects it gives off in direct light, it kind of picks up colors around it, too. It seriously compliments every single thing I wear it with. There are a thousand reasons that I love moonstones, but their versatility is high up on my list.

What’s your favorite gemstone and/or favorite piece of gemstone jewelry?

*This is a real thing that I did to my poor, poor parents except it wasn’t a moonstone ring, it was a sweatshirt with “Bad Cop, No Donut” on it. I felt so guilty that I kept it – and continue to keep it – for almost 20 years.

Thanks to Juwelo for working with me on this post! They sent me the ring in this post in exchange for my honest review.
