Adventures in Shopping: Closing Ross (Again)
Apr 09.12 / Lindsay
Jen and I seem to have the innate ability to arrive at a store at any time of the day, and stay so long that we eventually get physically removed from the store because it needs to close, and why are you both shirtless in the dress section? What? When you don’t have time to get [...]
In Love With Kelly: Green Heels for Spring 2012
Feb 23.12 / Lindsay
While I do enjoy Kelly Osbourne from time to time, and Kelly Rutherford is one of our eco-friendly lifestyle icons, and if we really want to talk about inspiring women, Grace Kelly is always on my list of favorite people. When it comes to greens, unfortunately I can’t say that kelly green is my favorite. It’s nice enough, [...]
Coveting: 80%20 2011 Holiday Collection
Feb 15.12 / Jennifer Nicole
The holidays are not over yet. 80%20 says so. We haven’t talked about the hidden wedge wonder brand since last year’s holiday collection, which was a trend-tastic playset of sneakers and boots. This year’s holiday collection is a little more streamlined, with subdued, classically-inspired shapes in fun colors…and in true 80%20 fashion, all but one [...]
Color Play: Textured Cobalt
Jan 26.12 / Lindsay
I can’t believe how much cobalt blue suede and velvet I’ve been seeing lately! Our last trip through Marshalls yielded three pairs by three different brands! One strappy platform, one closed-toe pump, and one of those popular loafer-slipper styles that have been popping up everywhere lately. We were having trouble remembering which pair was velvet, and which was suede, but as Jen points out: “Velvet is the broke girl’s suede.”
Obsessed: Miz Mooz
Jan 11.12 / Jennifer NicoleMy favorite shoes of all time are a pair of Miz Mooz two-toned oxfords. I will treasure them, and take them to the cobblers whenever they need it, and if they ask me to feed them cake while wearing a gorilla suit, I’ll do that too. Because I love my oxfords, I assume I’ll love [...]
Ostentatious! (or: Hobos With Great Shoes)
Jan 06.12 / Jennifer Nicole
The lovely Lindsay started this post with these words: “Recently, I’ve been on a “do everything that scares me” kick. I’ve been making cupcakes on a whim (I never have before now!), made all of my own Christmas gifts for my family, and bought really intense, bright, eye-catching shoes and actually wore them to a [...]
Shoe Porn: When Your Feet Do The Talking
Dec 29.11 / Lindsay
As one of my favorite parts of an outfit, my shoe collection is not only the most voluminous portion of my wardrobe, but also the brightest and most unique.
Adventures in Shopping: DSW
Dec 16.11 / Lindsay
The cure to any “off day:” shopping, duh. Last weekend, we bounced through TJ Maxx and a couple other stores before crash-landing at DSW, or for those who hate acronyms, Designer Shoe Warehouse. It’s too easy to walk through each aisle, throw your three bags and jacket onto the floor, throw off your shoes and [...]
Shoe Porn: All Converse, All the Time
Dec 07.11 / Jennifer Nicole
This is a Converse post from someone who didn’t get her first pair until she was twenty-seven. I know, I’m new. It’s weird. Let’s try to get past it, or maybe celebrate it a little with a post about some of the pairs of Converse I want in that brand-new-to-them sort of way. First up [...]
Shoe Porn: Favorite Flats Under Fifty
Nov 30.11 / Jennifer Nicole
Alliteration made me write the above title. What I really want to do is “Favorite Flats Under $25″ but it doesn’t sound as neat when I say it out loud. So blame alliteration for everything over $25, k? As much as I love the rain, wind and every other kind of weather that kicks the [...]
