I have had approximately one year to let the wedge sneakers trend sink into my bones, and I’ve come out with an opinion on them: I’m into it.
Yeah, in hindsight, no one is surprised. B&B doubles as a well-documented report of our love affair with fashion sneakers, and I would do just about anything to keep my teal & grey suede kicks safe from harm.
Then, the sneakers from Isabel Marant’s F/W 2011 collection happened, and with it came a billiondy-five knockoff wedge sneakers within a year – all looking the same, all failing to meet my code of ethics for inexpensive fashion.
These Olympiaa (extra A for extra attitude) sneakers from Steve Madden are pretty wonderful, though – can’t lie. They don’t smell like knockoff to me, and they’re in a beautiful, warm neutral. That’s my jam, right there! Please to wear you with dark red skinny jeans and sweaters, not to mention coated black jeans and a silk top. Do want.
