I am having a horrible time narrowing down my shopping cart on Shopbop to one, widely applicable piece of jewelry to add to my collection. It’s excruciating, and I’m turning to you for support and guidance.
Jewelry has been a constant battle for me, and I’ve written about it several times, so I’m challenging myself to get six new pieces of jewelry this year.
Six may not sound like a lot, but I want these pieces to be iconic-level cool, and I also want to have them for the next decade. All of this – plus my self-imposed budget of $75 – criteria adds up to a pretty hefty decision, and I’ve narrowed it down to five pieces.
The lame part is: I can only pick one. I need some kind of (or, in some cases, several) rules that act as an electric fence between me and future credit card debt.
Each of these pieces of jewelry meet most, if not all of my criteria, and I need guidance!
Gorjana Infinity II Ring
Three loops intertwined to create an eye-fooling, seemingly-infinite loop of rose gold bands make up this ring’s design, and I really like it. Rose gold is still novel to me, as it’s not used nearly as regularly as yellow and white.
Sunhara Malibu Power Stone Ring
This is such a beautiful statement ring. What doesn’t go with a big, white, pearly orb? I’m going to go with nothing. White and gold are such a classy combination together that the aggressiveness of this shape really contrasts nicely.
Madewell Stacking Ring Set
Not only is this pretty much five rings for the price of one, but the rings themselves could easily be worn individually, or in dozens of combinations. I can’t lie – the fact that there’s green involved is definitely a factor here, but ultimately it’s just smart to jumped on these ring sets because of the crazy value they offer!
Giles & Brother Skinny Railroad Spike Bracelet
What could be cooler than wearing a spike as a cuff? Probably a few things, because doing too much “look how badass I am!” with accessories usually has the opposite effect. Railroad spikes, on the other hand, are an adorable mashup of badassery and twee. This is Tumblr in a bracelet.
Gorjana Camila Hammered Ring Set
The boldness and minimalism of this ring set totally speaks to me. I love the almost Ancient Egypt feeling it has, with the hammered metal and the finger-climbing combination. The bright gold is also a major selling point for me. I love metal in all shades and levels of disrepair, but this sunshine-yellow gold is particularly special for its ability to be understated while also making a statement. Fancy, huh?
