Miss Elle on assignment! I was asked to go check out designer discount store Marshall’s new Shoe Mega Shop Boutique!
I decided not to go undercover, because that was just kind of weird, but I did go with high expectations!
Shoes and shoes and shoes and SHOES! From all kinds of designers. I mean all kinds. We had high-end to medium-end and some super-bargains… But mostly super quality kicks. Don’t believe me?
That’s right. $50 for a sweet pair of Guess slingbacks, which I photographed so poorly that you can’t even see the shoe. Impressive! They call all Guess shoes “Famous Maker”… I don’t know why.
I tried some various shoes on, naturally. About 15 pairs. What can I say? I’m human.
First up: A pair of patent t-strap Franco Sarto heels that I’ve been coveting for about 6 months. I know! What are the odds? They were all of about $29.99.
Unfortunately, they were a size too big. Curses!
Adorable! I love t-strap heels because they make your ankles look SO thin, which makes the rest of your legs look extra feminine.
Not impressed? Not fashion-y enough for you? Check this out…
Ellen Tracy – on clearance for $15!
Fresh Cole Haan pumps for $129!!! Unfortunately, none in my size… But there were some Cole Haan sandals on clearance for $40 in my size…
Unfortunately… They were hideous. I’m not so obsessed with fashion that I’d wear these outside of my house just because they were Cole Haan. Please.
So I was perusing the aisles alone, thankfully not being swarmed by seedy sales people like I would if I were… elsewhere.
Then I saw this:
7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7.
I wear a 9-9.5. What if those shoes were my dream?! I couldn’t have had them… Luckily, they weren’t my dream, but I was still irked at the lack of size diversity.
But then… They called to me. A little golden box on a rack, all by himself (these are definitely boy shoes). I opened their little lid to peek inside at the pair of shoes claiming 9.5… And out popped these perky, frisky little things:
YUM. Madden Girl Mary Janes. I’d never even considered Madden Girl before – I always went straight to Steve… But times, they are a-changin’. A whopping $25 later, they were mine. YEAH. $25 for pristine Maddens. Life is sweet, and they fit better than any other pair of shoes I own. Coincidentally, Marshall’s Shoe Mega Shop Boutique also asked the cutest little blogger from The Clothes Horse to review their digs and she bought the exact same shoes, just in brown and tan! Crazy!
The rest of the boutique was a ton of temptation, control and perseverance.
Regardless, if you want to find where the nearest Shoe Mega Shop Boutique is near you, check out this site.
If you’ve been to one, tell me your experience!
xoxo.
