American Eagle Outfitters is the store I go to when I just want to find elevated basics at great prices. Last night, I needed that budget-friendly satisfaction, but when I clicked over, I noticed that they were having a major sale on their clearance items, taking an extra 40% off.
Among the rompers and sun dresses that reminded me of summer, I spotted a number of pieces from American Eagle Outfitter’s Soft & Sexy line. If you’re unfamiliar with the Soft & Sexy clothes, they live up to their moniker. Typically the Soft & Sexy pieces are basics that have a little something extra.
No one loves fancy basics more than I do. The goal is to find pajamas I can wear outside. I have found pajama pants I can wear in public, but there are a lot of unchecked boxes left on my “switch to the pajamas version” list.

AEO Soft & Sexy Sky High T-Shirt, $24.95 $9.98
Rugby stripes are a weakness of mine, as are graphic t-shirts. This is kind of the perfect wardrobe staple for people who like bold patterns with muted colors. There are three other color combinations to choose from, but the burgundy is my favorite.
AEO Soft & Sexy Henley T-Shirt, $29.95 $11.98
Yay for hi-low shirts that aren’t boxy or baggy! It’s this time of year that I usually try to live in leggings around the clock, and tops like this are perfect for my lifestyle. I love the henley neckline because it’s like a v-neck with a little bit more personality.
AEO Soft & Sexy Kimono T-Shirt, $29.96 $11.98
I’m a total suck for tops with wide sleeves. Kimono-style tops fit into this category for obvious reasons. The ombre on this reminds me of an ombre sweater I got from ThredUp – they’re almost identical! Draping is extremely comfortable and, for the most part, forgiving. This has kind of a tucked hem that keeps it from just being a sheet that ends at your knees.
AEO Soft & Sexy Lace Back Romper, $39.99 $13.99
This romper hits all of my buttons: interesting rear view, long sleeves with shorts, a non-crew neckline, and a ditsy floral that reminds me of small floral liberty prints. I also snuck this in because of that orange-mauve bralette, which I’m now in love with. I’ve written about AEO/Aerie’s bralettes several times before because they’re gorgeous and extremely affordable – keep reading for more on that. Would it be wrong to wear this romper with tights and boots this winter? Because I really, really, really want to.
AE Soft & Sexy Ribbed Jegging Tank, $24.95 $9.98
A jegging tank…? I’m not sure what that means, but I can look past it. If you’ve ever wanted to participate in the strappy-chest trend but you kind of enjoy being supported by an underwire bra and, you know, wearing your clothes to work – this. This is the top you can slide under pretty much any jacket, or wear with skinny jeans on the weekend. It’s sexy, but not much skin is showing – nor is it particularly fitted. But most importantly, it’s ribbed, and that means it’s comfortable.

Surprise, surprise – graphic t-shirts. I would show you graphic t-shirts all day, every day if it were even remotely entertaining for you. These are special, too, because they are under $8 which is amazing, but also have some pretty great designs considering they’re from a mall store (no offense, AEO!). And “Bring Me Snacks” – are you kidding me? How do I not own this already? I can think of 10 girls who needs this, right off the top of my head. Bring me snacks!
