Naja Lingerie makes some of the most beautiful ethical lingerie and undergarments in the lingerie sphere. Naja is so good at ethical lingerie that I still think about their beautiful Talavera pattern longline bras. Once you see them, you’ll see why.
With Naja’s focus on fit and shape, it’s only logical that activewear would come next. Last summer, they released their first ever ethical activewear line, and it’s special for more than just the beautiful designs. Naja continues to up the ante in the ethical fashion field by going above and beyond when it comes to the welfare of their employees.
The women who construct and print these beautiful pieces are in head-of-household positions in Columbia, where Naja founder Catalina Girald grew up. Naja offers women steady employment for a living wage in addition to some industry-disrupting benefits. Children of Naja garment workers receive school books, uniforms, meals, and school supplies – all paid by Naja.
There are several activewear collections so far, each with their own theme. The initial collection, Tigress, is inspired by the dwindling population of tigers, globally, along with an homage to the kung-fu warriors of China.

Naja’s second activewear collection is called Madagascar, inspired by the tiny island off of the southeastern coast of Africa. This little island (jk it’s the fourth largest island in the world) split off of the Indian peninsula a really, really long time ago and now, 90% of the plants and animals in Madagascar are only found… in Madagascar. This collection features florals inspired by Madagascar’s uniquely private gardens.

The most recent collection, Borneo, is predictably a celebration of the southeastern Asian island of Borneo, which is divided into Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia. This island contains one of the oldest rainforests on the planet which is reflected in the luscious green leaf prints on this Naja collection.

There are also a couple of stragglers in the activewear section that come from a micro-collection called Marrakech. Based on the vibrant and artful Moroccan city, this is a geometric, vivid, and striking pattern that centers around tile-like prints and a majestic date palm, which Morocco is famous for.

These collections are full of interesting cuts, flattering shapes, and a variety of background colors for you to choose from. I have my favorite combinations from each line, but truly all of them are glorious. Especially when you compare them to my current workout gear which is standard, utilitarian black or navy blue.
And these beautiful, vibrant prints you see? They’re created with a digital printing process that minimizes water use, and as a result, water contamination and waste is drastically reduced. On top of that, many of the fabrics used in the activewear and swimwear lines are made from recycled bottles!
