It’s normal to be nervous when heading to your prom. You’ve probably spent months getting organized and making sure you have thought of everything. But, when the big night arrives, you probably have expectations and these may not be met.

It’s enough to make anyone nervous, especially when you’ve taken the time to find the perfect dress, selected complimenting makeup, hair, shoes, and even a bag. You need your prom to go smoothly!

However, things do go wrong. The best way to avoid these things being an issue is to prepare your emergency items in advance and take them with you.

A Packet Of Mints

You never know when you’re going to want to impress someone, kiss that special friend, or simply chat and know that your breath doesn’t stink of the prom food. The simplest way to avoid any issue is to keep a packet of mints with you. Have one after you’ve finished eating and any other time you feel is necessary.

Extra Deodorant

You’re going to be dancing in a crowded room. It will inevitably get hot and that means your deodorant will be working hard.

It’s a good idea to have a little spare, ideally a travel-size deodorant stick. You can reapply as necessary to ensure you smell good throughout the night.

Plasters

The simple truth is you never know when you or one of your friends will cut themselves. Having a few plasters handy can stop them from ruining their dresses while giving their wound time to clot.

They can also be used to help with blisters, allowing you to keep on dancing.

Safety Pins

As much as you hope it doesn’t happen, dresses can get damaged and this can leave you desperately trying to hold your clothes together. This isn’t an issue if you keep a few safety pins handy. You can pin your dress back together and get on with enjoying your night.

A Power Bank

Your phone isn’t on your emergency item list because it’s an essential. But, remember that your phone has a limited battery. It’s virtually guaranteed to fail when you need it the most. If you carry a power bank with you you’ll be able to recharge your phone and call for help or directions in almost no time.

That makes your power bank your new best friend.

Spare Cash

If you’re heading to prom you’re taking enough money to enjoy your night. But, you never know when you may have an emergency and need a little more.

That’s why you should stash a little extra money in your bag. It gives you the funds you need in an emergency, potentially saving you an embarrassing call to your parents.

Makeup

Hopefully, your carefully crafted makeup will last the entire night. But, the truth is that this isn’t always the case. If you carry your basic makeup kit with you, then you can quickly fix any issue and continue enjoying your prom.

Probably watching Netflix.
