What if I told you that there was a direct connection between a drugstore mascara and the rescue and recovery of orphaned baby animals? Thanks to a partnership between Wet N Wild and The Appalachian Wildlife Refuge called Wands for Wildlife, recycling your mascara wands will help li’l rescued fur babies get icky stuff out of their fur like parasites and fly eggs, as well as aid in veterinary examinations.

They’re not just fur babies, either! Just look at this grumpy little wren! He’s getting combed over to make sure he doesn’t have any hidden injuries or larvae in his newly sprouted feathers.

Good job, buddy. You’re gonna be just fine. Now let’s take a break from cute animal pics to talk about how you can participate in Wands for Wildlife.

If you live in the lower 48, you may have noticed a prepaid label that came with your last Wet N Wild mascara purchase. That’s for any and all used mascara wands that you might have laying around – they don’t even need to be Wet N Wild brand! They’ll take anything you’ve got laying around. Heck, if you don’t even want to purchase a Wet N Wild mascara (it’s only like $5… but I get it), you can call their customer service line to request a prepaid label.

If you happen to be in the market for a new mascara, though, might I suggest the new(-ish) Wet N Wild Lash Renegade mascara! It comes in standard black or “Brazen Black” and “Avenging Amethyst” which is a predictably beautiful purple.

But what’s better than having a purple mascara in your arsenal? Knowing that the purchase of that purple (or black) Lash Renegade mascara will double down on its charitable contributions by donating a portion of proceeds to Wands for Wildlife!

All the way through August 2018, Wet N Wild will be donating $1 from each purchase to the Appalachian Wildlife Refuge, so you have some time to think about whether you’re a Brazen Black kind of person, or an Avenging Amethyst type.
